MY MOTIVATION
Last October, my grandmother was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Since then, our family has been learning how to care for her at home. One huge reason we’ve been able to manage is because of HOSPIS Malaysia.
That’s why I’m raising funds so more Malaysian families can get the same palliative care support, especially because HOSPIS provides this care free of charge. Even my grandma insisted on donating after meeting them.
We chose palliative care because at her age, comfort and quality of life matter most. Our nurse, Rachel, is amazing — super patient, always calls back quickly when we panic-call, helps with pain management, and even tries to speak to my grandma in a little Cantonese. It’s small, but those moments make a hard season feel a lot more human 🥹.
I’m not a runner 😂 but I’m taking on my first 21km to honour my grandma while she’s still with us.
