MY MOTIVATION
A few years ago, I developed asthma and started experiencing something I never had before, struggling to breathe.
Wheezing during runs. Waking up at night gasping for air. Feeling my body turn unpredictable.
I rebuilt slowly. Medication. Discipline. Patience. Eventually, I could run hard again.
But here’s the truth: I get to recover.
Patients supported by Hospis Malaysia often don’t have that luxury. Many are facing life-limiting illnesses where the focus is no longer performance, it’s pain relief, comfort, and dignity at the end of life.
Hospis Malaysia provides home palliative care, symptom management, and emotional support to patients and families during their most vulnerable moments.
I run by choice.
They endure by circumstance.
If my temporary struggle taught me anything, it’s this: breath is fragile and compassion matters.
