MY MOTIVATION
At 36, I’m at an age where I’m very aware that health is not guaranteed. I’ve started running to stay strong, not just for myself, but so I won’t become a burden to my loved ones as I grow older. But along the way, I began noticing how many elders around me were falling ill, and some sadly passed on due to serious health conditions. It became even more real when I learned that a friend’s mother lost her battle with cancer and old age. That experience opened my eyes to the importance of palliative care.
Palliative care is not about giving up on life — it is about giving people dignity, comfort, and meaning in their final chapter.
I want to run and raise funds for Hospis Malaysia because I believe no elderly person should spend their remaining days in pain, fear, or loneliness. Every kilometre I run is a reminder that life is precious and limited. If my run can help someone’s final days be more peaceful, meaningful, and filled with care, then every step is truly worth it.
