RULES & REGULATIONS OF THE KUALA LUMPUR STANDARD CHARTERED MARATHON 2026
- The Kuala Lumpur Standard Chartered Marathon ("KLSCM") 2026 (the "Event", "KLSCM 2026" or "KLSCM2026") is organised by Dirigo Events Sdn Bhd (the "Organiser") with the full support of the Kuala Lumpur City Council/Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur ("DBKL") and Malaysia Athletics ("MA") in accordance with these Rules and Regulations, and all the terms and conditions and other relevant rules and regulations, applicable to the participants of the Event ("Participants"), which can be found at www.kl-marathon.com (the "Official Website").
- By signing up for and providing any information, personal or otherwise, in order to gain access to any product(s) and/or service(s) and/or participate in any programme(s), event(s), talk(s), demonstration(s), and/or any other activities involving the Organiser and/or the Event sponsors (the "Sponsors"), the Participant is deemed to have given explicit permission for the Organiser and the Sponsors to collect, analyse, collate, share, disclose to third parties, sell and/or otherwise use without any liability to the Participant, any personal information relating to that Participant as may in its sole discretion deem fit, including without any limitation for its programmes, planning, data-processing and statistical or risk-analysis, research, fund-raising and/or any other purposes in furtherance of the functions. The Organiser and the Sponsors declare by virtue of being the Event owner or sponsor, they can use services of third parties:
- For storing data within and outside of Malaysia, whichever one is deemed most reasonable by Organiser;
- For development or implementation of programmes, products or services as it may deem necessary;
- For outsourcing of any programme(s), event(s), talk(s), demonstration(s), and/or any activities;
- For promotional, marketing and/or administrative purposes;
- For all purposes as required by law, including without limitation court proceedings, criminal investigations or prosecutions or where so ordered by any competent authority;
- In connection with any proposed novation, assignment, transfer, sale, lease, license, partnership, joint-organising and/or any collaboration where and when required in relation thereto.
- Completion of the official entry form confirms the Participant's agreement to abide by these Rules and Regulations and the Privacy Policy. The organiser has the liberty to reject any application on certain grounds and these include but are not limited to competing interests, doping bans or any suspension by any sports organisation or international federation.
- The Organiser reserves the right to modify or substitute any of these Rules and Regulations and the Privacy Policy from time to time as they deem fit. If there is ambiguity in any of the provisions, the Organiser shall be the authority to interpret and in doing so, the Organiser will take into account the interests of all the affected Participants. It is the responsibility of the affected Participant to keep abreast with any changes. Please check back the Official Website regularly for updated Rules and Regulations and the Privacy Policy.
- Registration for the race is only confirmed upon payment made and/or upon issuance of a race identification number.
- Registration fees will be charged in Malaysian Ringgit (RM). Malaysian residents shall include Malaysian citizens residing in Malaysia, Malaysia permanent residents and expatriates who hold a legal pass/permit residing in Malaysia; Malaysian citizens living abroad are excluded. Please refer to the Official Website for further details about the KLSCM 2026 registration fees.
- In consideration of the Participants use of the Official Website, the Participants agree to:
- Provide true, accurate, current and complete information contained in any registration form (such information being the "Registration Data");
- Maintain the security of the Participant's password and identification; and
- Maintain and promptly update the Registration Data to keep it true, accurate, current and complete. The Organiser may contact the Participants from time to time by email and/or mobile device. Any notice sent to the email address and mobile device registered with the Organiser shall be deemed as received by the Participants. If the Participants provide any information that is untrue, inaccurate, not current or incomplete, or the Organiser has reasonable grounds to suspect that such information is untrue, inaccurate, not current or incomplete, the Organiser may suspend or terminate the Participant's registration and refuse Participants any and all future use of the Official Website (or any parts thereof).
- The Organiser reserves the right to cancel or postpone the Event at any time without prior notice to the Participants, in which case the Organiser will make effort to inform the Participants prior to the date of the Event. If the Event has to be cancelled or postponed, there shall be no refund of fees or donations paid unless the Organiser deems fit to give a refund. The Organiser, Sponsors and Affiliates (defined below) shall not be held liable for any loss or inconvenience caused. The "Affiliates" shall include the Event co-organisers, co-sponsors, partners, volunteers, and any entity or person that provided products or services for the Event and Event activities.
- There will be strictly no refund available if the Event is cancelled for reason of force majeure i.e., due to occurrence of incidents that are beyond the control of the Organiser or acts of God which renders it impossible or unsafe to hold the Event.
- The Organiser reserves the right to amend the Event format and/or race routes as the Organiser deems fit for the safety of the Participants and/or to prevent any potential hazards in the running of the Event, at any time. In such cases, every effort will be made to inform the Participants prior to the date of the Event. The Organiser, Sponsors and Affiliates shall not be held liable for any loss or inconvenience caused due to such changes.
- While every reasonable precaution will be taken by the Organiser to ensure the safety of Participants, the Participants take part solely at their own risk and the Organiser, Sponsors and Affiliates will not be responsible or held liable for any injury, damage, contraction of communicable disease, death or other loss howsoever arising from training for, before, during, or after participation in KLSCM 2026. Participants are strongly encouraged to go for a medical examination and/or consult their medical practitioner prior to registration and before the race day. Participants must accept and understand that he/she must have the physical fitness suitable for the category that he/she registered for, by the day of the race.
- The form on the reverse side of the Participant's running bib must be fully and accurately completed. Participants must wear the assigned running bib on the front of his/her running shirt, not on any side, the back or lower half of his/her body. The running bib must remain visible and unobstructed on his/her chest at all times. No Participants shall be allowed to start the run nor take part in Event without displaying the appropriate running bib and/or identification. Participants must not attach or staple anything to the lower left corner of the running bib where the timing chip is located.
- If the Participant's original running bib cannot be found by the respective staff during Race Entry Pack Collection ("REPC") or during the packing of the Race Entry Pack for delivery, the Organiser reserves the right to replace it with a spare running bib. The Organiser reserves the right to amend or substitute any Participant's running bib at any time without prior notice to the Participant.
- Participants in the Full Marathon and ASICS Half Marathon may be required to start from different Start Pens (defined below) based on their estimated time of completion. Participants are to assemble in their respective Start Pens which are reflected on their running bib or start wristband. "Start Pens" are designated start areas designed to facilitate a more efficient and convenient race start, and more optimal race day experience for all Participants. The Organiser has the right to change the Start Pens of the Participants, where deemed necessary, without prior notice to the Participants.
- The Event's Full Marathon and ASICS Half Marathon routes have been measured to the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races ("AIMS") standards. The length of the race routes has been established by an accredited World Athletics-AIMS course measurer.
- The cut-off time for Full Marathon is seven (7) hours and fifteen (15) minutes from the flag-off. Road closures on the Full Marathon route will be lifted after seven (7) hours and fifteen (15) minutes from commencement of the race. Cut-off times will be set at specific checkpoints along the Full Marathon route to ensure the safety of Participants who are unable to complete the race within the seven (7) hours and fifteen (15) minutes and to ensure that the roads can be re-opened to the public in accordance with the Event permit. These are all based off the gun time i.e., the time when the starting gun is fired.
- There are four (4) checkpoints along the Full Marathon route with specific cut-off times which are strictly enforced.
- KM20: Cut-off time 7:25 am
- KM24: Cut-off time 8:05 am
- KM33.9: Cut-off time 9:50 am
- KM42.05: Cut-off time 10:45 am (the gate will be closed once the 7:15 pacers have crossed this point)
- Full Marathon Participants who do not reach each checkpoint within the stipulated cut-off time will be disqualified and may be required to board the sweeper bus and will be taken to a location near the Finish Area. All buses will have a KLSCM 2026 Vehicle Access sticker on the windshield.
- There will be one (1) checkpoint on the Full Marathon route – located after KM30 - where each Participant will be given one KLSCM 2026 checkpoint wristband by the respective officials or staff. Each Participant is responsible for ensuring that he/she receives this wristband and wears it on his/her wrist until he/she has collected his/her Finisher Medal and Finisher T-shirt on race day. Full Marathon Participants who do not have this wristband, or do not reach each checkpoint within the stipulated cut-off time, or do not finish within the stipulated cut-off time, will not be allowed to collect the Finisher Medal and Finisher T-shirt.
- The cut-off time for the ASICS Half Marathon is four (4) hours from the flag-off. The will be one (1) checkpoint on the ASICS Half Marathon route, located after KM15: Cut-off time 7:55am. Participants must reach the checkpoint and finish the ASICS Half Marathon distance within the stipulated cut-off times in order to be allowed to collect the Finisher Medal.
- A Participant must retire from the race immediately, if required to do so by any member of the medical staff, security officers, officials, route marshals, and/or race director.
- Pets, bicycles, in-line skates, prams, strollers, push carts, shoes with built-in or attached rollers and any other wheel-run objects are not allowed on the race route. The only exception to this rule is for the 5km Fun Run category, where prams, strollers, and wheelchairs are allowed.
- Once registration has been duly processed and payment has been made, no refunds will be issued for any reason whatsoever. There are also strictly no refunds for Participants who do not eventually take part in the Event, regardless of reason. Exemptions may be made for Participants who have purchased the SuperCover insurance but any refunds are subject to the terms and conditions of the insurance policy.
- The Organiser reserves the right to use any photographs (including those of Participants – name, face, likeness, voice and appearance), motion pictures, recordings, or any other media records of the Event including any programme(s), event(s), talk(s), demonstration(s), or any other activities associated before, during or after KLSCM 2026, as they shall deem fit for any legitimate purpose without any form of payment whatsoever, including but not limited to commercial advertising, publicity purpose and distribution to Sponsors anywhere in the world to promote the Event or similar future events. The copyright to such material shall belong to the Organiser absolutely.
- The Organiser reserves the right to limit and/or refuse entry to the Event and/or other programme(s), event(s), talk(s), demonstration(s), or any other activities involving the Organiser and the Sponsors without giving any reason and/or notice.
- The Organiser will not entertain nor be in any way responsible for any disputes arising from incomplete or inaccurate entry details in the registration form.
- The Organiser reserves the right to cancel and/or add any race category without prior notice to the Participants.
- Each participant is only allowed to one (1) entry / category / registration. Participants are not allowed to change categories once their registration has been completed.
- Registration transfer
- All registration transfers must be made through the official platform, the Registration Transfer Marketplace (the "Marketplace") provided by the Organiser. Participants are strictly prohibited from swapping, transferring or offering to sell, swap or transfer their race entry or allowing any other person to wear their running bib outside of this platform.
- The Registration Transfer Marketplace is a platform where a runner can legally purchase race entries from those who are unable to make it to the race. Participants are required to use this platform to ensure that there is a proper exchange of information between the seller and buyer. This is important in order for the Organiser to have the correct information of the new runner, including all the necessary medical and emergency contact details.
- Transfers can only be made when the Registration Transfer Marketplace is open. Any transfers that are not made through this official platform or outside the transfer window will not be recognised and deemed illegal.
- Registration transfers are only available for confirmed Participants in the Individual category and are meant for Participants who are either indisposed or unwilling to participate on race day. Participants in the following categories are not allowed to transfer their race entries through the Marketplace:
- Run For A Reason (RFAR)
- Corporate Challenge
- Standard Chartered Bank Staff
- Sponsored Entries
- Other registrations using PIN codes
- Those who have purchased the Mailing Option for their Race Entry Pack
- Participants will only be able to transfer their race entry to another runner of the same gender, race category, and age group.
- The Rules and Regulations of the Marketplace will be available on the Official Website once the Marketplace opens. Participants are advised to read through them carefully before listing any entries.
- There are six (6) distance categories as follows:
- Full Marathon (42.195km) – Participants must be 18 years old or older on Sunday 4 October 2026 to participate in the Full Marathon (category).
- ASICS Half Marathon (21.1km) – Participants must be 16 years old or older on Sunday 4 October 2026 to participate in the Half Marathon category.
- IHH 10km – Participants must be 15 years old or older on Saturday 3 October 2026 to participate in the IHH 10km category.
- 5km – Participants must be 13 years old or older on Saturday 3 October 2026 to participate in the 5km category.
- 2km Kids Dash – Participants must be between 10 to below 13 years old on Saturday 3 October 2026 to participate in the 2km Kids Dash category.
- 800m Kids Dash – Participants must be between 6 to below 10 years old on Saturday 3 October 2026 to participate in the 800m Kids Dash category.
- Participants below the age of 18 are required to obtain parental/guardian consent and complete the relevant indemnity declaration form as deemed necessary by the Organiser upon registration, failing which, the Organiser reserves the right to refuse entry to that Participant.
- A Participant is considered a veteran if his/her 40th birthday falls on or before race day and will be automatically assigned to the Veteran category (for Full Marathon, ASICS Half Marathon, IHH 10km and 5km). If a veteran wishes to participate in the Open category, he/she needs to select ‘Open' during the registration process.
- A Participant in the Malaysian category and Malaysian Veteran category (for Full Marathon and ASICS Half Marathon only) must be a Malaysian citizen who holds a valid Malaysian Passport and/or Malaysian Identity Card to be eligible to participate in these categories. The Malaysian category is open to Malaysians aged 16 years old and above, while the Malaysian Veteran category is open to Malaysians aged 40 and above.
- A Malaysian Participant aged below 40 years old will be automatically assigned to the Malaysian category (for Full Marathon and ASICS Half Marathon only). If he/she wishes to participate in the Open category, he/she needs to select ‘Open' during registration process.
- A Malaysian Participant aged 40 years old and above will be automatically assigned to the Malaysian Veteran category (for Full Marathon and ASICS Half Marathon only). If he/she wishes to participate in the Open category, he/she needs to select ‘Open'; and if he/she wishes to participate in the Malaysian Category, he/she needs to select 'Malaysian' during registration process.
- A Participant aged between 13 to 18 years old will be automatically assigned to the Youngster category (for 5km only),
- Baggage Service
- There will be a baggage service for Participants to deposit their bags at the Start Point area. This is a paid service at RM6 and the option will only be available for purchase during the registration process.
- Baggage Service slots are limited to one (1) per person and are available on a first come, first served basis.
- Participants who purchase the Baggage Service will each receive a clear/transparent KLSCM 2026 Gear Bag and must use it when dropping off their bags on race day. Only the official KLSCM 2026 Gear Bags will be accepted at the bag deposit counters. Please note that the KLSCM event bag (blue-coloured), personal bags and suitcases will not be accepted.
- Participants may opt to have their bags delivered to them via the Mailing Option or collect their Gear Bags at REPC.
- Runners must deposit their gear bags at the Baggage Reception at the Start Point Area and collect their bags from there after the race.
- The Organiser will not be responsible for any loss and/or damage, personal or otherwise, to the belongings and items deposited at the Baggage Reception. The Organiser also reserves the right to check any item or bag deposited for security purposes.
- A Race Entry Pack is the Event's pack which includes the running bib, timing chip (attached to the running bib), and other sponsored items (if any). Malaysian Residents (except Corporate Challenge, Run Club Challenge, Sponsored Entries and other registrations using PIN codes) may opt for courier delivery service for the Race Entry Pack ("Mailing Option"). The Mailing Option will only be available for purchase during the registration process.
- The Race Entry Pack will be couriered to the mailing address provided in the registration form at least one month prior to the Event. It is the responsibility of the Participants to check and ensure that they have provided a valid address for the delivery.
- An SMS notification containing tracking details will be sent to the respective recipients when their race entry packs are enroute. Participants must provide a Malaysian mobile number to facilitate the delivery process.
- Participants are advised to have someone present to receive their package when it is delivered. It is the responsibility of the Participants to check and ensure that they have received the correct items for their race entry packs upon delivery.
- In the event of any delivery issues, Participants must inform the Organiser via an e-mail to [email protected] within 3 days of the date of the SMS notification. Thereafter, the Organiser reserves the right not to entertain any enquiries regarding delivery issues.
- The delivery fee for each Race Entry Pack is RM30 per pack for Peninsular Malaysia and RM35 per pack for East Malaysia.
- The Organiser is not responsible for any undelivered Race Entry Packs due to incorrect or incomplete mailing information. For example, the mailing address, the name of the recipient, telephone number, and email address.
- The Organiser is not responsible for any undelivered Race Entry Packs due to unavailability of the recipient at the delivery address or failure to respond to messages sent by the courier to their designated mobile number.
- Undelivered Race Entry Packs will be returned to the Organiser and it is the responsibility of the Participants to collect their Race Entry Pack at the REPC venue during the collection period ("Collection Period"), of which details will be stated on the Official Website.
- No refund will be provided for undelivered Race Entry Packs, for any reason whatsoever.
- Those who have purchased the Mailing Option for their Race Entry Pack will not be eligible for any registration transfer.
- Race Entry Pack Collection (REPC)
- Participants who do not choose to purchase the Mailing Option and Participants who are not eligible to purchase the Mailing Option must collect their Race Entry Pack at the REPC venue during the Collection Period, where details will be stated on the Official Website. Participants are not allowed to add on the Mailing Option after their registration has been submitted.
- Participants who are travelling from out of town or outside Malaysia for KLSCM 2026 are advised to arrive at least two days before their race to be able to collect their race entry packs in time during REPC.
- It is the responsibility of the Participants to check and ensure that they receive all of the items of their race entry packs correctly and without defects, before leaving the REPC counter. The organiser is not responsible for any misplaced or missing items after a Participant has acknowledged receipt of all items and has left the REPC counter.
- Should there be any issues, Participants or the representatives will need to inform the staff at the REPC counter immediately. Thereafter, the Organiser reserves the right not to entertain any enquiries regarding race entry pack issues.
- All Race Entry Packs not collected during Collection Period will be deemed to be unwanted, and the Organiser shall be at liberty to dispose or re-distribute them accordingly. Race Entry Packs cannot be collected on race day.
- The "Gun Time" will be used to determine the winners for each of the following categories:
- Men's Full Marathon, ASICS Half Marathon and IHH 10km Speed (Open category)
- Women's Full Marathon, ASICS Half Marathon and IHH 10km Speed (Open category)
- Men's Full Marathon, ASICS Half Marathon and IHH 10km Speed (Veteran category)
- Women's Full Marathon, ASICS Half Marathon and IHH 10km Speed (Veteran category)
- Men's Full Marathon and ASICS Half Marathon (Malaysian category)
- Women's Full Marathon and ASICS Half Marathon (Malaysian category)
- Men's Full Marathon and ASICS Half Marathon (Malaysian Veteran category)
- Women's Full Marathon and ASICS Half Marathon (Malaysian Veteran category)
- 2km Kids Dash Speed and 800m Kids Dash Speed (Boys category)
- 2km Kids Dash Speed and 800m Kids Dash Speed (Girls category)
- There are 3 different Start Pens in the IHH 10km category:
- IHH 10km Speed – Start Pen 2
- IHH 10km Cruise – Start Pen 3
- IHH 10km Leisure – Start Pen 4
- Any Participant who commences to run before the actual flag-off of his/her registered race category will be immediately disqualified. The start time for the respective race categories can be found on the Official Website.
- Participants who do not start within 15 minutes of respective flag-offs (Full Marathon, ASICS Half Marathon and IHH 10km), for safety reasons may not be allowed to start and will be immediately disqualified.
- With the exception of the Corporate Challenge Participants, only High Performance Participants of the IHH 10km Speed are eligible for prize money and winner's medals.
- The "Net Time" will be used to get an overall ranking in all categories.
- Participants must complete their respective run categories (which they registered for) within the following cut-off times (these are all based off the gun time i.e., the time when the starting gun is fired); otherwise, they will be deemed disqualified or did not finish.
- Full Marathon: Seven (7) hours and fifteen (15) minutes
- ASICS Half Marathon: Four (4) hours
- IHH 10km Speed: One (1) hour and fifteen (15) minutes
- IHH 10km Cruise: One (1) hour and thirty (30) minutes
- IHH 10km Leisure: Two (2) hours
- 5km Fun Run: One (1) hour and thirty (30) minutes
- 2km Kids Dash: Forty (40) minutes
- 800m Kids Dash: Thirty (30) minutes
- In addition to the abovementioned cut-off time for Full Marathon, the Participants in the Full Marathon must reach each checkpoint along the Full Marathon route within the stipulated cut-off times (gun times); otherwise, they will be deemed disqualified or did not finish.
- General rules for Full Marathon, ASICS Half Marathon, IHH 10km, 5km, and Kids Dash:
- By registering for the Event, the Participant agrees that the Organiser might post the full race results on the Official Website after the Event. Each Participant is allowed to win only one prize (where applicable) in the category that he/she has registered for.
- Only High Performance Participants are eligible for the prize money.
- Winners or potential winners who do not use his/her assigned running bib will be disqualified.
- The Organiser reserves the right to replace any winners if he/she is found to be disqualified.
- All winners must report to the person in charge at the prize giving tent as stipulated on their winner's tag. In case a winner fails to do so, the Organiser may donate the cash prize money to charity.
- All winners must present their original identification document (either Passport or Identity Card) for verification purposes.
- Prize money will be submitted to the winners through bank transfer within 30 to 60 days or after the Organiser has received the doping test results.
- For winners or potential winners, disputes and appeals must be made within 30 minutes of the published results on the results notice board on-site or immediately after the prize presentation, whichever is earlier, failing which the Organiser reserves the right not to entertain any disputes or appeals thereafter.
- For all other Participants, disputes and appeals regarding the results must be submitted in writing including electronic mail within 3 days after the Event. The Organiser reserves the right not to entertain any dispute or appeals thereafter.
- For all disputes, the Organiser's decision is final and no other disputes thereafter will be entertained.
- For all other Participants, any discrepancy in their results, must be informed to the Organiser via electronic mail within 3 days after the official results have been published on the Official Website. No requests for amendment of timing or ranking and follow-ups will be entertained thereafter.
- The timing chip is a single-use, disposable device attached to the back of the running bib. Participants must wear the assigned running bib correctly and visibly on his/her chest during the race. If the running bib received is in an individual transparent plastic bag packaging, Participants must ensure that the running bib is removed from the plastic bag before wearing it. It is the responsibility of the Participants to ensure that his/her running bib is not covered with a jacket, pouch bag, his/her arms, or any other object when running over the timing mats. The Organiser reserves the right to disqualify any Participant who does not wear his/her assigned running bib during the race.
- All Participants who successfully complete the race in a category he/she registered for within their respective cut-off times will be given a Finisher Medal upon presentation of their running bib (and checkpoint wristband for Full Marathon) to the respective staff. This entitlement will not apply to Participants who were unable to complete the race within their respective cut-off times, disqualified or did not finish.
- All Participants who complete the Full Marathon within the cut-off times (including checkpoints along the race route) shall also receive a Finisher T-shirt upon presentation of their running bib and checkpoint wristband. Sizes are subjected to availability. This entitlement will not apply to Participants who were unable to complete the race within their respective cut-off times, disqualified or did not finish.
- All Participants who successfully complete the race in a category he/she registered for within their respective cut-off times will be given an e-certificate. The e-certificate will be made available on the Official Website by 6 pm on 21 October 2026. This entitlement will not apply to Participants who were unable to complete the race within their respective cut-off times, disqualified or did not finish. The e-certificate will only be available until 31 December 2026. There will not be any hardcopy Finisher Certificate mailed out to the Participants.
- Participants who allow other runners to wear their bibs during the race or to collect any finisher entitlements will be disqualified and banned from future events.
- Participants who do not successfully complete the race but dishonestly collect any finisher entitlements will be required to return the items or risk being banned from future events.
- Finisher Medals and Finisher T-shirts
- All Finisher Medals (all categories) and Finisher T-shirts (Full Marathon category only) are to be collected upon completion of the race and no requests will be entertained thereafter.
- It is the responsibility of the Participants to check and ensure that they receive their finisher entitlement items correctly and without defects.
- Should there be any issues, Participants will need to inform the staff at the Finisher Medals and/or Finisher T-Shirts collection tent immediately. Thereafter, the Organiser reserves the right not to entertain any enquiries regarding finisher entitlement issues.
- High Performance
- Participants in the Full Marathon, ASICS Half Marathon, and IHH 10km Speed, who are looking to finish within the prize money standings for their distance and race category, are advised to register under High Performance in your respective category as only those registered as High Performance runners are eligible for the prize money.
- The High Performance option will only be available during the registration process.
- Participants who apply are required to submit the relevant credentials as proof that they have achieved the required qualifying time within the qualifying window period from events with a World Athletics International Measurement Certificate.
- Only selected participants will be allowed to race under High Performance.
- High Performance is limited between 20 and 50 Participants per category.
- Not all Participants who submit their applications will be automatically accepted nor guaranteed entry to be a High Performance Participant.
- All qualifying times submitted are subject to review and verification.
- The qualifying window period, submission window period, and qualifying times are as per stipulated on the Official Website.
- 5km run
- There are three (3) different categories for the 5km category differentiated by age groups:
- Youngster: Aged between 13 to 18 years old on Saturday 3 October 2026
- Open: Aged between 19 to 39 years old on Saturday 3 October 2026
- Veteran: Aged 40 years old and above on Saturday 3 October 2026
- There are no winners or prizes in the 5km category as it is a fun run.
- Kids Dash
- There are two (2) different Start Pens in the 2km:
- 2km Speed – Start Pen 1
- 2km Fun Run – Start Pen 2
- There are two (2) different Start Pens in the 800m:
- 800m Speed – Start Pen 1
- 800m Fun Run – Start Pen 2
- Registration for the Kids Dash shall be entered by the Participant's legal parent/guardian and who must complete and submit the relevant indemnity declaration form upon registration. Failing which, the Organiser reserves the right to deny entry to any Participants.
- Parents/guardians are not allowed to enter the Start Pen nor accompany their children/wards during the run.
- Run For A Reason (RFAR) and Corporate Challenge.
- RFAR is the Event's charity platform for individual participants.
- Participants will each be given a PIN code to register for the RFAR – it is not an automatic entry and the registration process must be completed. This PIN code is only valid for the current year and must be used by the given deadline.
- Participants who register for the RFAR in support of our official charity partners are bound by the specific Rules and Regulations of the RFAR programme in addition to Rules and Regulations applicable to the individual categories as stipulated on the Official Website.
- A Participant can choose to register in one of the four (4) distance categories, namely Full Marathon, ASICS Half Marathon, IHH 10km or 5km.
- All participants will be ranked as individuals in their respective distance categories and all other Rules and Regulations apply.
- There is no registration fee to participate in the RFAR. However, Participants are required to make an initial donation of RM200 for Malaysian Residents or RM600 for Non-Malaysian Residents, to the chosen charity organisation. This amount will be reflected as the first donation raised on the Participant's profile page.
- Participants who raise between RM500 to RM999 will receive an RFAR Bath Towel, while those who raise RM1,000 and more will receive both the RFAR Bath Towel and an exclusive RFAR ASICS Tee.
- The minimum amount for each online donation is RM30 per transaction.
- Regardless of eventual runner participation, all donations collected will be donated to the designated charity partner and no refunds will be made.
- All Participants will be ranked as individuals in the respective distance categories and all relevant Rules and Regulations apply.
- Corporate Challenge is the Event's charity platform for businesses and companies
- Participants who register for the Corporate Challenge are bound by the specific Rules and Regulations of the Corporate Challenge programme (which can be found on the Official Website) in addition to the Rules and Regulations applicable to the individual IHH 10km category.
- Companies must be based in Malaysia to participate in the Corporate Challenge.
- Companies must register a minimum team size of three (3) runner, irrespective of gender. Fees per runner include a RM94 registration fee and a RM1,000 donation.
- The Participant of each team must be employees from the same company. All Participants will flag-off together with the IHH 10km Cruise Participants.
- The team with the lowest aggregate "Net Time" of the first 3 finishers will be declared the winner.
- In case of a tie, the team with the lowest "Net Time" of the slowest runner will determine the winner.
- All Participants will be ranked as individuals in the overall IHH 10km rankings. Every Participant in the Corporate Challenge will be treated as individual Participants of the IHH 10km Cruise category and all relevant Rules and Regulations apply.
- The prize presentation for the Corporate Challenge winners will be held separately at a later date, and winners will be kept informed on the details by the Organiser.
- The Organiser shall not be held liable for any activity that is not considered as legal, committed either by the official charity partner, any organisations or Participants who register and raise funds for the RFAR or Corporate Challenge programmes.
- All other charities or non-profit organisations must seek the approval of the Organiser to take part in any fund-raising project using the Event as a platform but not in conjunction with the Event. Please contact the Organiser for further details.
- Run Club Challenge
- The Run Club Challenge is the category for independent running clubs and has three (3) distance categories – Full Marathon, ASICS Half Marathon and IHH 10KM.
- The Run Club must:
- be based in Malaysia
- be at least 3 years old as of 1 October 2026
- have an active social media account.
- Run Clubs are required to submit the following credentials for the eligibility verification process:
- Certificate of Run Club’s registration under the Societies Act 1966 (Akta Pertubuhan 1966) showing a registration date no later than 1 October 2023, OR
- The Run Club’s social media account and the link to its first post with a posting date no later than 1 October 2023.
- Submission of an application is not an automatic guarantee of entry. All applications will be vetted and Run Clubs who qualify will be notified that their entry has been accepted.
- All Run Club Challenge participants must reside in Malaysia.
- All Run Club Challenge participants are still required to pay the standard participation fees to compete.
- Clubs may compete in up to three distance categories but are only permitted to send one (1) team per distance category.
- Each team must comprise four (4) runners, where at least two (2) must be female runners.
- The results of the top three runners in each team will be tabulated to determine the winner.
- Run Club Challenge team members will not be eligible for the individual prize money, and thus not allowed to apply for or compete in the High Performance category.
- Run Club Challenge athletes who successfully complete the race by the respective cut-off times will receive their individual finisher entitlements and rankings.
- The winning team will receive a medal for each team member and a trophy for the club.
- The prize presentation for the Run Club Challenge winners may be held separately at a later date, and winners will be kept informed on the details by the Organiser.
- State Youth Challenge
- The State Youth Challenge is the category for youth runners aged 15 to 24 years old and has three (3) distance categories – Full Marathon, ASICS Half Marathon and IHH 10KM.
- All State Youth Challenge participants will be able to represent a Malaysian state of their choice.
- All participants must be Malaysian citizens but are allowed to compete even if they reside overseas.
- All State Youth Challenge participants are still required to pay the standard participation fees to compete.
- Runners in these categories are eligible for the State Youth Challenge – Individual, Foreign Residents, PIN Codes, Standard Chartered Bank staff, GBS staff, and Run For A Reason (RFAR) participants
- Runners in the following categories are not eligible to compete in State Youth Challenge – Corporate Challenge Run Club Challenge, and the Kids Dash.
- State Youth Challenge athletes who successfully complete the race by the respective cut-off times will receive their respective finisher entitlements.
- The prize money won will go to the state athletic associations for their Youth programmes.
- There are a total of six (6) categories. The prizes are each category are:
- Winning state – RM2,000
- 2nd place – RM1,300
- 3rd place – RM700
- Running Clinics
- The Running Clinics are open to all Participants of KLSCM 2026.
- Running Clinic Participants must be aged 13 years old and above to participate in the session.
- Participants below the age of 18 are required to obtain parental/guardian's consent and complete the relevant indemnity declaration form as deemed necessary by the Organiser upon registration, failing which, the Organiser reserves the right to refuse entry to any applicant under the age of 18.
- Participants are required to register online for each Running Clinic – the number of slots will be limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Participation in each clinic is open only to KLSCM 2026 registrants who have successfully signed up for that particular clinic. The clinics are closed-door sessions and each slot is for individual access only. Running Clinic Participants are not permitted to bring unregistered individuals to participate with them.
- Cancellation Notice: Running Clinic registrants who are unable to attend a clinic they have signed up for must notify the Organiser at least 48 hours in advance by sending an email to [email protected].
- No-shows: Running Clinic registrants who fail to show up for a clinic without any prior notification will be sent an email on their absence. Repeat no-shows will be prevented from booking a future clinic slot for a minimum of two years.
- For each Running Clinic, participants will need to sign in and collect a bib for the day. This bib is for identification purposes during the clinics and has a timing chip to track your performance at selected sessions so that you are able to monitor your progress and identify areas for improvement. All participants must return the bibs and sign out after each Running Clinic session. Bibs will not be issued for the Performance and Recovery Workshops.
- While every reasonable precaution will be taken by the Organiser to ensure the Participants' safety, Participants run solely at their own risk and the Organiser will not be responsible or held liable for any loss, injury or death howsoever arising from participating or after participation in the clinic. Participants are strongly encouraged to go for a medical examination and/or consult their medical practitioner prior to registration and before the actual Running Clinic Day.
