Kuala Lumpur Standard Chartered Marathon 2026

The Kuala Lumpur Standard Chartered Marathon ("KLSCM") is a privately organised sporting event owned and managed by Dirigo Events Sdn. Bhd. under the official sanction of Malaysia Athletics.

To ensure a high-quality experience for our participants, sponsors and partners, official event photography is provided by photographers appointed by KLSCM.

Over recent years, we have observed individuals attending the event solely for the purpose of photographing participants and commercially selling these photographs through private websites and social media platforms without the knowledge or authorisation of the Event Organiser.

We wish to clarify the following:

Commercial Photography

Photography for personal, editorial or media purposes is generally welcomed.

However, any photography undertaken for commercial purposes, including but not limited to:

• selling photographs to participants;
• offering digital downloads for payment;
• licensing images commercially;
• promoting commercial photography services using photographs taken during KLSCM;
• operating a photography business from within or around the event,

requires the prior written approval of Dirigo Events Sdn. Bhd.

Unauthorised commercial exploitation of the Kuala Lumpur Standard Chartered Marathon, including the use of event branding, official race bibs, trademarks, logos and other event intellectual property for commercial gain, is not permitted.

Official Photography Programme

KLSCM has appointed Official Event Photographers to provide comprehensive photographic coverage throughout race weekend.

Photographs made available through the Official KLSCM platform directly support the organisation and continued development of the event.

Become an Authorised KLSCM Photographer

We recognise the talent and passion of Malaysia's running photographers and invite freelance photographers to become part of our Official Photography Programme.

Approved photographers will have the opportunity to:

• register with KLSCM as an authorised photographer;
• upload photographs to the Official KLSCM Photo Platform;
• receive a competitive commission on photographs sold through the platform;
• gain recognition as an Official KLSCM Photography Partner;
• potentially receive future accreditation and preferred access.

We believe this creates a fair arrangement for photographers while protecting the interests of participants, sponsors and the event.

Enforcement

KLSCM reserves the right to:

• refuse accreditation;
• request unauthorised commercial photographers to cease commercial activities within official event areas;
• deny future event access or accreditation;
• take appropriate action where unauthorised commercial use of KLSCM intellectual property is identified.
