How It Works

How do I participate in the KLSCM 2021 VR?

This is how it works:

 

a.     Register

  • Register for free via the KLSCM Website (registration period is from 3 August to 4.00 pm, 18 November 2021 (GMT+8)).
  • Choose your category and distance (refer to question no. 22 on how to register a team).
  • If you are a Malaysian resident, you can select a state in Malaysia that you would like to represent.
  • Make a donation to Futuremakers by Standard Chartered (optional).
  • Select your preferred merchandise (optional). Please note the delivery dates in the Merchandise Terms and Conditions.
  • Upon completion of registration, you will receive a confirmation email and e-bib number.
  • Confirmed merchandise purchases and donations will receive a payment confirmation email.
  • Confirmed registrants can take part in the KLSCM 2021 VR Photo Contest during registration period (optional).

 

b.     Practice Run Challenge (Optional)

  • Participants who registered for the race qualify for free entry to the Practice Run Challenge.
  • You may participate in the Challenge as an individual or as part of a running group or club by creating a new one or joining an existing one.
  • You need to complete the Practice Run Challenge between 12.00 am, 4 October and 11.59 pm, 31 October 2021 (GMT +8).
  • On your practice run day, set your GPS running device or GPS running app to record your run.
  • Follow your device or app instructions to start and stop recording.
  • Upon completion of your practice run, log in here to upload your GPX / TCX file or screenshots of your completed run from your device or app.
  • The distance you ran will be added to the Practice Run Challenge Leaderboard.
  • There is no limit on the distance, so go out and run or walk as much as you like.
  • You may complete multiple practice runs during the Practice Run Challenge period. Make sure to submit your practice run records by 11.59 pm, 31 October 201 (GMT+8).
  • Every completed run record uploaded (GPX / TCX file or screenshots) will be added and your accumulated total distance will be displayed on the Practice Run Challenge Leaderboard.

 

c.     Track Your Run and Submit Your Record (Race Day)

  • You will need to complete the race between 12.00 am, 20 November and 11.59 pm, 28 November 2021 (GMT +8).
  • On race day, set your GPS running device or GPS running app to record your run.
  • Follow your device or app instructions to start and stop recording.
  • Run or walk as fast as you can to complete the required distance in one continuous effort (completion of race distance over multiple runs are not allowed).
  • Upon completion of your distance, log in here to upload your GPX / TCX file or screenshots of your completed run from your device or app (latest submission by 11.59 pm, 30 November 2021 (GMT +8).
  • After your record is submitted, it will be added to the Race Leaderboard – You can submit only one record for the race.

 

d.     Celebrate Your Achievement

  • Celebrate and share your achievement on your social media accounts with photos from your run or a selfie wearing the KLSCM 2021 VR tee and medal, with the KLSCM 2021 VR finisher photo frame.
  • Use the hashtags #KLSCM2021VR and #KLSCMVR to inspire others.
  • Get access to the finisher photo frame, view your results and download your e-certificate via the KLSCM Website which will be available from 28 December 2021 to 31 January 2022.
